Oxford Energy Seminar

The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) KFAS is sponsoring 1 seat to participate in the 2019 The Oxford Energy Seminar to be held in Oxford, UK 16th- 25th Sep 2019. The Oxford Energy Seminar is a fully residential, educational conference held annually, in September, since 1979. It is now widely recognized as an important international forum on energy.

The objectives of the Oxford Energy Seminar are:
  • To enhance the professional qualifications of participants through an intensive exposure to the latest developments in thinking and knowledge on problems of energy.
  • To improve the understanding of forces shaping the future environment in which both investment and policy decisions relating to energy will be made.
  • To provide a privileged opportunity for close contacts and a fruitful dialogue between participants from petroleum exporting and petroleum importing countries.

Eligibility:
  • Kuwait-based senior researchers and/or industry professionals who are involved in either public or corporate decision-making in the field of energy with minimum of 10 years experience or 5 years experience for PhD holders. Field of study and expertise include: Engineering Economics, Energy Management, Energy Policy, Hydrocarbon Value Chain Analysts;
  • Ability to debate and discuss in English;
  • Applicants who have previously participated in past Oxford Energy Seminars are not eligible for this opportunity;
  • Applicants must be available to attend the entire program from 09:30 on Monday, 16th until 12:45 on Wednesday, 25th September. Participants will receive their certificates after the last session on the final day and should not plan to leave the seminar before then.

As part of this sponsorship, KFAS will cover the Seminar participation fee (which includes tuition fee, residence in Oxford campus dorms, meals, and learning materials) and provide the selected applicant with1,500 K.D. to facilitate his/her travel arrangements.
